At its Jan. 14 meeting, the School Board of the City of Virginia Beach elected Kathleen Brown as chair and Carolyn Weems as vice chair. Brown has served on the School Board for two years and Weems for 22 years.

Welcome Green Run students!
We are pleased to have you as a part of our school family. At Green Run, we want every student to succeed, and we are committed to working with students to ensure that they learn and grow in a supported and enriching environment.
As an elementary school student, your child will undergo many changes during their years here. There will be new friends, new teachers, new knowledge, and a variety of opportunities.
At Green Run, our students are at the heart of every decision. Everything we do is about ensuring their experiences here help them to develop in a caring, supportive environment with great teachers and staff at the center of the school. For example, thanks to our PTA and fifth-grade art club, our community has a beautiful reading garden for all to enjoy. Our pergola is a perfect spot to enjoy a good book.
We have high expectations and high aspirations for every one of our students and our vision is that our students aspire to be the best they can be.
